Meeting Ingrid Banwell

 18th November, 2020

Something very special happened today in Nga Papahu. We had a Google Meet session with artist Ingrid Banwell, whose work inspired our gorgeous paintings last term. We chatted with Ingrid for almost 45 minutes online, asked her lots of questions and showed her our digital art which was also inspired by her work. Thanks so much for your time, Ingrid - you gave us lots of tips and tricks for our future art projects, and positive feedback on our work. A BIG thank you must go to our Manaiakalani teacher, Whaea Kerry, for making all the connections happen. You rock, Kerry :)

  1. Tau kē tō mahi (awesome work) Ngā Papahu you all worked very well together in the Google Meet conference with Ingrid Banwell. I particularly liked how you showed your work via the screen share, taking turns and knowing when to turn your microphone on and off. You had some excellent questions too. I was super impressed!

  2. It was such fun meeting you all the other day and seeing your artwork. You have been working so hard and have come up with some wonderful ideas! And thanks to your teachers for setting this up and encouraging your creativity. It was so good to see you not only painting and drawing but also working with digital images. Computer art opens up a whole new world of artistic possibilities.
Keep up the fantastic work and have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer holiday.
    Ingrid
